Why create a Peace Ball?
This project reinforces students’ moral leadership (National Character Education Standards 5 & 7), recognizing how their individual peacemaking actions make a difference to the entire school community. Not a competition, the annual creation of the peace ball serves as a tangible and visual symbol of how positive individual action contributes to a school culture of peace and respect.

How do we share our Peace Ball with the wider community? Send your Peace Ball to CHARACTERplus by April 20, 2010. Please tag your peace ball with your school and district and send to Karen Sisco, CHARACTERplus, 1460 Craig Road, St. Louis, MO 63146. It will be displayed with others at the Magic House from May through October 2010.

Join us at a "PeaceMakers Family Night" at the Magic House on one of two Wednesday evenings this Fall. You can register for "PeaceMakers Family Night" on either October 6th or October 20th from 6:00pm to 8:00pm by contacting Karen Sisco at ksisco@csd.org

How do you celebrate your school-wide Peace Ball? Many schools hold a Peace Assembly. Fox Elementary has a Peace Parade. Several schools have invited Gateway to Peace Traveling Museum to their school. They ask only for donations to cover their supplies and mileage.

The name of your school and district,or your youth organization

The address of your school or organization

Your name and phone number (direct line or extension)

The number of students who participated (usually your entire student body, but sometimes an individual class or group will create a peace ball.)
