Description: For school teams ready to build a comprehensive, schoolwide approach to a bully-free community.

The Workshop This interactive course explores research, definitions, experiential lessons differentiated for grade levels, student ownership and leadership,effective response process, "witness protection" programs, and parent and community involvement. Based on the research of Dan Olweus and the work of Stan Davis'Schools Where Everyone Belongs, the material equips school teams to:

develop relevant policies

use them consistently and schoolwide

develop a common language and understanding

start with the staff: self-reflections

establish a clear "Bully-Free" mentality

what doesn't work

support the bystanders

protect the targets

confront and redress the bully

involve students, staff, support staff, custodians, lunch and recess support, after-school leaders and volunteers
