Description: This workshop is one of three courses required for CHARACTERplus Certification in Character Education. It explores research-based strategies that are shown effective in increasing:

attachment to school

academic goals and motives

academic achievement

independence, initiative

problem-solving

citizenship

character knowledge

Based on the What Works Study(Berkowitz & Bier)and additional research that assesses individual practices, this workshop explores classroom and schoolwide strategies that develop character.
