EJACE's mission is to ensure a just, equitable, and inclusive school culture by helping administrators, staff, and students identify and develop mission and vision, values, people, practices, place and narrative that will eliminate the negative impact of inherent bias, social insensitivity, prejudices, and systematic intolerance.

We are very grateful for our St. Louis region's stewardship of this noble work. Creating a positive school culture and climate where character, intrapersonal, and interpersonal skill-building serves as the foundation for student and teacher success. We think you'll appreciate hearing from a EJACE participant administrator in last year's academy.

This testimonial would not be possible without your generous support.

We are fortunate to have expertly qualified EJACE leaders at CharacterPlus who, along with Emerson's financial support, make this possible for education leaders in the region. Take a moment and listen to these EJACE observations from three of the regions foremost experts in this work with schools - Michael Barolek, M.S.W, Grace Lee, Ed.D., and Jeremy Mapp, Ed.D..

The 2023-2024 EJACE Cohort included Eight Schools, 24 - 32 school administrators and educators with a combined enrollment of

approximately 8000 students.

EJACE Podcast

We were asked to add an EJACE Podcast to our series. We hope you'll take a few minutes and give it a listen!

We didn't get in the situation we're in overnight. And so, therefore, we will not get out of the situation that we're in and the things that are challenging us. Anytime soon, but if we can be committed to it for a long period of time, and we can be willing to say that we're going to have gradual change that will work towards justice,  I believe that we'll be able to definitely be much closer. I think EJACE allows us to be able to put the steps and the action work to it, to make sure that our individual buildings are working to do the work that they can for their spaces as well.

Each summer, EJACE begins with a civil rights immersion trip to museums and research centers in Montgomery and Birmingham, Alabama. School administrators participating in the coming year's EJACE program willfully give up summer time for this experience.
