The Character-Based Technology Academy (CBTECH) aims to immerse teachers, instructional coaches, and school leaders in leveraging emerging technologies to build and foster character in schools. This academy focuses on harnessing the power of technology to develop virtues and skills such as empathy, integrity, responsibility, creativity, complex problem-solving, adaptability, and resilience among K-12 students.
How do educators remain technically proficient and relevant in this rapidly changing world, yet ensure that they don’t lose the essence of education: the human connection, ethics, and values?
● Ethical Decision-Making:
The current era is marked by complex ethical dilemmas, from privacy issues in technology use to environmental sustainability. CBTECH equips educators with the tools they need to
help students develop their moral compass.
● Digital Citizenship:
Modern learners need to understand the responsibilities that come with being a part of online communities. CBTECH will reinforce the role of important values such as respect, empathy, and integrity, which are essential for fostering positive digital citizenship.
TRAINING TOPICS INCLUDE:
● Responsible Artificial Intelligence (AI), Virtual Reality (VR), Augmented Reality (AR) use
